Pulsed Electrochemical Deposition

Posted by gamry on April 1, 2026

In this application note, we introduce the reader to a pulsed electrochemical deposition technique and how electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance (EQCM) can provide additional insight into the processes that occur during each of its cycles.

Square-wave Voltammetry

Posted by gamry on January 28, 2026

Among the many electrochemical techniques available in Gamry Instruments’ Framework™ software is square-wave voltammetry (SWV), a form of pulse voltammetry. SWV is typically used in sensing electrochemically-active analytes present at low concentration. SWV, like other pulsing techniques (differential pulse, normal pulse, etc.) is more sensitive than cyclic voltammetry because the pulse current is subtracted from a baseline current to generate a differential current.

Using Cyclic Voltammetry to Detect Iron Impurities During Water Oxidation Measurements

Posted by gamry on February 18, 2025

This application note outlines an electrochemical method using cyclic voltammetry (CV) to detect iron (Fe) impurities in aqueous alkaline electrolytes using nickel (Ni) electrodes. The performance of Ni electrodes towards the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is not the focus.
