A Live Talk Electrochemistry with Model Thin Film Polymer Electrolytes presented on April 29th, 2021 by Dr. Chris Arges, Assistant Professor in Chemical Engineering at LSU Baton Rouge.

Polymer electrolytes are important material components to the efficiency of numerous electrochemical processes.  This webinar will be presented in two parts:

  • Part 1 of this talk presents the impetus behind the re-emergence of high-temperature polymer electrolyte membrane (HT-PEM) fuel cells for vehicular applications.
  • Part 2 of the talk presents our work on probing the ionic activity coefficients in thin film polymer electrolytes interfaced with liquid aqueous electrolytes using advanced metrology (e.g., environmental GI-SAXS and QCM) and classical molecular dynamics simulations.
