MultEchem™ Multichannel Electrochemistry Systems

You need to run several electrochemical tests on different samples at the same time.  One potentiostat isn't enough and an ECM8 Multiplexer runs tests in sequence. You need faster results.  You need a MultEchem Electrochemistry System -- one computer running up to eight Gamry Potentiostats.

A MultEchem 8 Electrochemistry System with up-to-eight Gamry Series G Potentiostats installed in an industrial computer.  You can also configure a MultEchem using our Reference 600 or Reference 3000 Potentiostats.

All of the Gamry Potentiostats in a MultEchem System can be operated simultaneously and independently.  To be sure that we all understand each other, that means:
The Potentiostats can all be operated at the same time, and
The Potentiostats can be performing entirely different experiments on different cells.

It's exactly like having several Potentiostats/Computers on your bench.  It just takes up much less space and it's a lot less expensive.

The MultEchem System comes in two versions:

Series G Potentiostats:  Includes an industrial computer that runs Windows, but has 20 PCI slots in which we install the Series G Potentiostats.  The cell cables emerge from the back of the computer and attach to your electrochemical cells.*  You operate each Potentiostat in the MultEchem from the computer, using the features of Windows and the Gamry software to setup, start, stop, and view the results from the individual potentiostats.

Reference 600 or Reference 3000 Potentiostats: If your MultEchem consists of Reference 600 and/or Reference 3000 Potentiostats, then you control them through powered USB Hubs and you use a standard Desktop (or Notebook) Computer.

Since all Gamry Potentiostats communicate with the computer in the same way, you can mix and match the four Gamry Potentiostats in a MultEchem System.  If you need three Series G 300s and three Series G 750s and two Reference 600s, just let us know and we'll take care of it.

There are two major advantages of the MultEchem System compared to the competition:

The Gamry Potentiostats in the MultEchem are the exact same Potentiostats that we ship to single Potentiostat users.  In competitive multichannel systems, the potentiostats are designed and built for the multichannel instrument, so cost becomes more important than performance.  With a MultEchem, there is no downgrading of the Potentiostat specifications.

The MultEchem uses the same Gamry software that is used for single-potentiostat systems.  There's absolutely nothing new to learn to run the MultEchem.  All of the software looks the same and works the same, there's simply an additional line on the display to identify the Potentiostat that is in use.  There's a secondary benefit to this feature -- Gamry only has to worry about maintaining one family of software, so you be assured of getting enhancements and bug fixes in a timely manner.  Which, by the way, you can download for no charge from this website!

Because all of the Potentiostats are installed in one computer, the software in the MultEchem System has a special price.  As a result, the price-per-potentiostat of a MultEchem will take your breath away!  Well, that might be an exaggeration, but it's pretty darn impressive.  Contact us for a quotation.

* Don't forget that we can supply 4.5 m and 9 m cell cables if you wish.  Since you have up to eight cells arrayed about the MultEchem System, the longer cables may be convenient.
