2nd Quarter 2026
Greetings,
Last quarter, we released the Reference 3020 Potentiostat and with that came a series of rapid-fire hardware and software updates culminating in Framework Version 7.11. We strongly recommend you update to this version if you haven’t already done so. In Q2, the team has been busy meeting you where you’re at—conferences, campus visits, and workshops. Read below for more information.
We especially want to highlight our new EU EIS Short Course next month. Our intent behind hosting this short course is to connect with and serve our EU community directly with Hands on EIS activities. We hope to see you there to have frank discussions about what it means to make impedance measurements and how electrochemistry intersects with your instrumentation.
Lastly, we’ve moved to quarterly newsletters instead of seasonal ones. The intent hasn't changed. Expect to see a roundup of Gamry activities and interesting highlights.

Mastering EIS - A 4 Day Intensive Workshop
June 22-26, 2026 Gamry Europe Office - Via G. Amendola 27058 Voghera (PV) – Italy
This course is intended for scientists of myriad backgrounds who are interested in unleashing the power of Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy in their respective fields. Suitable for academics as well as industrial researchers, this course will help you use EIS properly with theoretical instruction in addition to hands-on experiments.
Over four days, you will start with the fundamentals of EIS and fitting software (Day 1), then explore batteries and practical battery measurements (Day 2), followed by corrosion mechanisms and impedance experiments (Day 3), and conclude with porous electrode modeling and an interactive roundtable/Q&A session (Day 4).

ECS 249th Meeting
May 24-28, 2026
Seattle, WA US
The 249th ECS Meeting takes place at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle, WA, from May 24–28, 2026. Anchored by the theme Sustainable Technologies, the meeting underscores the vital role of electrochemistry and solid state science in addressing today’s most pressing sustainability challenges.
Gamry will be an Exhibitor at this conference so stop by the booth and say Hi to Jerome, John and Andrew.

Reference 3020 Accuracy Contour Plot
The Accuracy Contour Plot gives you valuable information about a potentiostat’s EIS performance and accuracy. It allows you to compare the Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy capability of any potentiostat.
Gamry provides Accuracy Contour Plots for every one of our potentisotats that is EIS-capable. The accuracy contour plot provides a detailed look at the performance you can expect from your instrument in real-world situations. The results include the cell cable. Accuracy contour plots are important because they let you compare the performance of different manufacturers to ensure you are getting the best possible measurement.

Pulsed Electrochemical Deposition
Tracking electrodeposition with redox replacement using an electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance.
In this application note, we introduce the reader to a pulsed electrochemical deposition technique and how electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance (EQCM) can provide additional insight into the processes that occur during each of its cycles. Electrodeposition with redox replacement (EDRR) is a technique that can enable the recovery of precious metals like Ag, Au, and Pd, present at trace levels in process streams that contain a high concentration of less noble metals such as copper.
