What is an Authorization Code?

Posted by IQnection on July 7, 2016

Authorization Codes activate your Gamry Software to work with your potentiostat.  Each of the software packages has a package name (e.g. “DC105” for DC Corrosion Techniques) and a 10-digit Authorization Code that is linked to the serial number of your instrument.

When taking delivery of a new instrument system you will receive a list of the software packages purchased and the Authorization Codes that are linked to the instrument.  The codes can be entered on the Device Settings dialog box that appears upon first installation of the hardware.  The Authorization Codes can also be changed at a later time by going to the Windows Device Manager.  Right-click on the potentiostat device under Gamry Instruments Devices and select Properties.  Click on the Device Settings tab.
