Big News!  Gamry has introduced a THREE AMP Potentiostat!  The new Reference 3000 Potentiostat made its debut at the Electrochemical Society Meeting in Phoenix on May 19.  The Reference 3000 is a USB-based instrument.  It comes in two versions, one of which is especially attractive to battery researchers.  More info...

Gamry Potentiostats are built to be compact, so you can easily move them to another lab or use them in the field.  For field use, you need a portable power pack and you can find some recommendations here...

We have released Version 5.50 of Gamry Software and it is available for free download to all licensed users.  Version 5.50 includes the new Sequence Wizard, an easy-to-use sequencer with a drag-and-drop interface.  More details...

If the impedance of your Reference Electrode is too high, your electrochemical experiment will fail.  Here's a way to check the impedance of your Reference Electrode.

Electrochemists' Revenge
There are many non-electrochemists who, while respecting the massive brain power of the typical electrochemist, think that we are physically...challenged.  Here's a test to put them in their place:
1.  While sitting, lift your right foot off the floor and make slow clockwise circles with it.
2. Simultaneously, draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand.
For the brilliant electrochemist, this is easy.  For others, it's virtually impossible to stop your foot from turning the other way.

Wait...maybe it's the other way around.

We've also updated our list of meetings and exhibitions we plan to attend in the coming months and you'll find it here.  We're lonely...please stop and say hello.

The weather is getting brisk, signaling cold weather to come (unless you have the bad taste to live in the Southern Hemisphere...in which case, we are available for a visit!). Think I'll stay inside and play with my new Potentiostat!

Did your Gamry Potentiostat fail calibration?  You may have a faulty cell cable.  Here's a quick way to check the integrity of your cell cable.

Gamry has expanded our product line for cells and accessories by introducing the RDE710 Rotating Disk Electrode.  The RDE710 can be using for rotating disk, ring-disk, or rotating cylinder experiments.
