How do I change the current convention of my PHE200 data?

PHE Changing the current convention during acquisition (Framework version 4.10 or newer):

To change the current convention during the acquisition of any PHE200 experiment (Cyclic Voltammetry, Chronoamperometry, Chronocoulometry, etc.) a script must be manually edited.  The script file is called “PHE200.exp” and is located in the Gamry Script folder (for default folder locations see our support page on file locations).  It can be opened in any plain text editor, but will not save properly if opened in a document processing application such as Microsoft Word.

Near the beginning of the script file you will find the following two lines:

Cyclic Voltammetry, Chronoamperometry, Chronocoulometry

Based on the first line’s instruction, simply change value of the “global PHE200_IConvention” object on the second line to select which type of current gets the positive sign during acquisition.

Changing the current convention in Echem Analyst:

This applies only for converting data that has been acquired from one convention to another, i.e. if you have made the change to the PHE200 script, as detailed above, you will not need to change anything in Echem Analyst.  Open the Echem Analyst.  On the Tools menu, select Options.  Now proceed to the Units tab.  The setting for positive current can be changed within the “Research Current Convention” box on this tab:

Any open data file will need to be reloaded for the change to take effect.
