Senior Electronics Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on engineer whose work will impact all aspects of scientific instrument design including: interpretation of marketing requirements, conceptual design and simulation, circuit design, layout, productization, manufacturing and test, and continuing engineering.

The ideal candidate will be an Electronics Engineer or an Analytical Chemist/Physicist with extensive electronics design experience. In this position, you will be collaborating with a team of senior hardware and software designers and outside experts to implement a state-of-the-art analytical instrument system. You should have demonstrated design ability in Analog, Signal Processing, Mixed Signal, High Accuracy, Low Noise, High Speed circuits, Switching Power Supplies and Compliance Testing. The work will require significant circuit analysis, evaluation, and refinement.

You will report directly to the R&D manager.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional, but relaxed, development and testing environment. This position requires good technical English, and the ability to communicate verbally and in writing.  Work will be at the Gamry offices in Warminster, PA.

Gamry Instruments in Warminster, PA, is a manufacturer of electrochemical instrumentation and equipment. Founded in 1989, we develop laboratory equipment used for corrosion and materials testing, batteries and power conversion, catalysis, biological monitoring, sensors, and basic research.

We are a small, innovative shop, with good benefits and a flexible work environment. Our work involves analog and digital electronics, switching power supplies, signal processing, SOC and embedded systems, cabling, package design and so on. Our instruments require high speed, low noise, high accuracy (AC & DC) circuits and sophisticated software. We do a little of everything in a technically intensive field.

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of non-academic electrical engineering experience.
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry or other instrumental sciences.
  • Scientific instrumentation experience preferred.
