Dye Solar Cell Testing

IMPS / IMVS

Intensity Modulated Photocurrent Spectroscopy and Intensity Modulated Photovoltage Spectroscopy are techniques that can be used to characterize Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSCs). Our system utilizes two Gamry potentiostats to fully characterize DSSCs, allowing you to extract recombination and charge-extraction parameters.

Overview

One potentiostat drives an LED while the second potentiostat is used to characterize the cell. Data acquisition between the two potentiostats is synced so that phase information between the driving potentiostat and the acquiring potentiostat is obtained.

The dye-sensitized solar cell testing system includes a miniature optical bench with a dummy cell for background subtraction. The standard configuration includes a cell holder that can accommodate large and small cells.  We have red, white (several temperatures), blue, orange, and yellow available.  You could even provide your own LED.  The system is fully controlled in our standard data acquisition software, Gamry Framework.
