Federico Gambina
International Sales Manager
Federico (Fede) grew up in a small city in South America: Mar del Plata, Argentina. He received his BS at the Sabato Institute in Buenos Aires, a prestigious materials and engineering college created by Prof. Galvele, a world-class corrosion scholar whose legacy includes the theory of localized acidification for stable pit growth.
Later Fede moved to the USA and obtained his MS and Ph.D. at The Ohio State University (OSU) in Columbus, Ohio. There Fede was advised by Prof. Bucheit at the Fontana Corrosion Center. For his MS he worked on localized corrosion under thin films in corrosion-resistant materials, generating knowledge relevant to the integrity of nuclear waste canisters. For his Ph.D. work, he developed predictive models based on neural networks for correlating the kinetics of long-term coating degradation in salt spray chamber with parameters inferred from short-term EIS measurements. After OSU, he joined Honda R&D American Inc where he was responsible for development of new anti-corrosion coatings and plating technologies for the automobile and powersport groups as well as to provide technical support to all the North America mass production factories.
