Script and Data Locations in
Windows XP, Vista, and 7 for Gamry Software |
||||||||||||||||||
|
The locations of the Scripts, Sets, Models, and Data file folders in the Gamry Software for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 are shown in the table below. When you upgrade to the current version of Gamry software, which we always recommend, the setup program will automatically move your existing Sets, Scripts, and Model folders and their contents. It will also move your "My Gamry Data" folder and all of your data files. For your convenience, a shortcut to your new "My Gamry Data" folder will be placed on the desktop. A link to the Gamry.ini file will be placed on the Start bar under: Start - All Programs - Gamry - Framework - Gamry5.ini. With this file structure, Administrator or Power-User privileges are not required to install and run the Gamry software. The table below shows the new locations of the data-, scripts-, sets-, and model-folders for Windows XP and Windows Vista/7.

Note: By default, the Application Data folder is a hidden folder. If you try to navigate to it from C:\, it may not appear in the folder- tree! To make it visible, you must change a setting in the Control Panel. Go to: Start - Control Panel - Appearance and Themes - Folder Options. Select the View tab. Under Files and Folders - Hidden Files and Folders, click the radio
button "Show hidden files and folders."
The Application Data folder and its sub-folders will now appear in the folder-tree as you navigate through your hard drive.
