Rotating Electrodes

Rotating electrodes are used in corrosion and physical electrochemistry applications.  A complete range of rotators manufactured by Pine Instrument Co. is available through Gamry. Contact us through your local sales offices for more details or a quotation.

Rotators are available with rotational rates up to 10,000 RPM.  The rotational rate may be controlled through the front panel of the rotator or from the Gamry Software.

Electrodes are available in gold, platinum, and glassy carbon for physical electrochemistry applications.  A Quick-Change Tip is also available that accepts a disk fabricated from the metal of your choice for corrosion experiments or material evaluation.  A Rotating Cylinder can also be accommodated for corrosion measurements under turbulent flow conditions.  For an excellent review of Rotating Cylinder applications, see "The Rotating Cylinder Electrode for Examining Velocity-Sensitive Corrosion -- A Review", D. C. Silverman, Corrosion, 60, 1003 (2004).

We can also provide a rotating ring-disk electrode.  Two Gamry Potentiostats can be configured as a Bipotentiostat to use with the ring-disk electrode.
