This is the 2009 Corrosion Short Course Group assembled at the Earth and Engineering Science Building at Penn State. The lectures and the lab are held here. The faculty in the front row include Dr. Howard Pickering and Dr. Rudy Buchheit (far left), and Dr. Jerry Frankel and Dr. Barbara Shaw (far right, Barbara's the one with the crutch!) . Dr. Shaw is also the administrator and organizer of the Course. |

 Jeff Wiser from Medtronic and Ignacio Vargas from the Catholic University of Chile in Santiago work their way through the lab. Ignacio won the award for traveling the greatest distance to attend the Course. |

 The Unsung Heroes of the Corrosion Short Course are the graduate students and postdocs from Penn State who organize and run the lab sessions. Dr. Eliza Montgomery is soon headed for NASA Kennedy Space Center and John Petrilli starts medical school in the Fall at the University of South Florida. Eliza and John both assisted the Short Course for three years. Nick Pytel also assisted for his third Course. |
